MCP, Memory & Delegation Security for AI Agents
The agent’s dependencies and stored context form part of its security boundary.
Design and verification
Tool inventory
Identify allowed tools, MCP servers, capabilities and owners; review changes before widening access.
Memory isolation
Separate users and tenants, define retention and test for cross-session leakage.
Delegation limits
Bound sub-agent privileges and record who delegated which task.
Example
A tool description changes after approval. Review its capabilities and permissions before relying on a previous test result. Version pinning helps detect a change but does not establish that the tool is safe.
Engineering scope
These are control design requirements. Implementation, supported versions and evidence mechanisms are selected and verified for the customer environment. See Guardrail Engineering.
